Update ui with jquery or webchannel? which one you'll choose?

I'm curious to know which method has less overhead (better performance) when we want to update the ui in a webengine-based project:- Using jquery
- Using webchannel
If you have other ideas about the superiority of one method over another, i'll glad to hear.
