The MediaWiki software has also the contributions of this user list. With its help you can check for spam, vandalism, etc.

Wolf P., you can look for wiki pages touched by user in his profile.

Denis, I didn't introduce wp here, but yes I know - and use - the function in MediaWiki-based wikis. And: Yes, I saw the list of wiki pages touched in DevNet.

BTW: I'm in doubt if a contributions list is really a good thing for privacy reasons.

why would privacy be invaded? since this is a purely technical wiki? can you elaborate

For Wikipedia: analysing the contributions you can create profiles of the users interests.

For purely technical wikis: A timestamped list of contributions lets you track the user's activities, estimate when they spend how much time in the DevNet etc. I think that this could become problematic sometimes.

Wolf P., don't see any problems if someone will now when I spent time at DevNet. It also can be viewed by my comments at DevNet forum.

i still don't see any problem ... are you concerned with something like: some manager does not want you to log into devnet site during work hours? but that sort of thing is now totally outdated.

Are you afraid your boss is tracking you Wolf P? Maybe seeing how much code you give away for free rather than for the company? I don't think anonymity is a need.

As long as there is a link to the diff page, you can just tell someone which diff time to create.
