    @jonb said in How do you change password?:

    in one where it has not I try what I have previously noted as the correct password but it rejects it.... :(

    ...

    And where does it tell me that on this forum in my settings/profile? Or am I just supposed to guess? ;-)

    When you try to log into the forum you get the Qt Account login page which says, "Use your Qt Account credentials to sign-in to all Qt services, including Qt Bugreports, Codereview, Forums & Wiki, and The Qt Company Support Center" and it also gives you a "Forgot password?" link.

    @jksh
    But I have not forgotten my password! I merely wish to change it when I am logged on!
    Anyway, thank you :)

      Yes, a link somewhere in forums settings would help. @AndyS this /\ might be of interest to you :-)

        I agree it should be clearer somewhere on the profile page. I'll see if I can make it more visible once I am back from vacation :)

          Dear @AndyS,

          I just tried to change my password again, and could not find anywhere to do so. Then I searched this sub-forum, and discovered I had asked same question in August 2019....

          It clearly isn't any more obvious to me now than it was then. I was wondering: are you back from vacation yet? So that you might make it so we could divine this from the profile page? ;-)

            It is on the profile page, a direct link (after you are logged in is): https://login.qt.io/change?redirect_uri=https://account.qt.io/profile

              Hi Andy, nice to see you have returned from that vacation ;-)

              I'm a little lost. Yes, I can see what you mean, that is where I just changed my password from. However, what I meant is: starting here from https://forum.qt.io/, and thinking to myself I need to change my password, I cannot see anywhere that guides/points me from here to there. I do not recall that I need to go to https://login.qt.io to do so. Perhaps it is my unreasonable expectations.

                @JonB It is a unified account, so the only way to change it is via Qt Account as that is the same login/password used for the forum.

                  @AndyS
                  I (now) realise this, but I will forget it again in a while....

                  I'm not asking you to provide a way to change a password, just to tell me what I need to do. I haven't seen the qt io login page for years, probably because my password is remembered and I am logged in directly on the forum.

                  Perhaps just a sticky post at the top of this sub-forum, https://forum.qt.io/category/5/qt-io-webservices, "How to change your password/delete account instruction" would do it? As it was, the only way I found was searching and coming across my own post here from a year ago (which of course I had completely forgotten about!)?

                    I can add a sticky at least, the link I gave you should go direct to the page after logging in at least, if that did not work then let me know.

                      @AndyS
                      Sounds good to the sticky, thanks. As I said, it was not the link you gave which was an issue (that worked), it was remembering that is the way to change password in the first place which is problematic :)
