CMake again taking very long to run (only within QtCreator)

I had thought this was resolved with 4.12, but it is happening again. Very frustrating. The same cmake command that QtCreator is running takes 6 seconds on the command line, but minutes when run within QtCreator. Any attempts to use the IDE while this is taking place results in the windows being greyed out.
