Qt Installer for OS X keeps freezing on me when I switch to other applications

(Do i really need the entire 8.5GB just to make some simple Qt stuffs?)
Anyhow, the installer just keeps freezing up on me and I can't keep it as the foreground app in focus bc I'm on a really slow connection ATM.
Been trying for 24 hours and every time it freezes while I'm doing something else on my Mac. Even stalls while I display is sleeping I think. Driving me nuttso!

Clicking on dimmed out Install Button seems to get it going and the DL numbers rise again.
