Self updating app

Hi,
I have Win Qt 5.7 Qt Quick app. Is it good idea to make this app self updating considering the fact that files to be updated can be locked for writing as the app runs? I know the locked file can be renamed to file.dll.old, then new version of file is copied to the place, finally the app is restarted. Are there any scenarios when this won't work? -
You have to make sure that the current user has the correct privileges to write into the program dir.

@Christian-Ehrlicher I need admin privileges. It seems that I will have to run new process with admin privileges in order to update as my app doesn't run with admin privileges.
