      Might be a silly question but did you also select the option to install MinGW when you installed Qt ?

                To be more precise.

                Under "Tools"->"Options"->"Build&Run" you have the tabs "Kits", "Qt Versions", "Compilers" and "Debuggers" check under all tabs for special sign like warning and errors, typically yellow or red triangle indicate that there is an issue with the setup. You can click on those markers for more details.

                          It would be interesting for us to see them too.

                          When you hover the mouse over the triangles, is there any message?

                          Qt has to stay free or it will die.
