Need To Position and Zoom an Image in a Clipping Box

Hello all,
I'm totally new to Qt and trying to learn as I'm try to develop... fun! Not sure how to even ask about this, but here goes.
- I need to display a bitmap image inside some clipping area on my widget.
- When zoomed larger than the extents of the clipping area, I'd like to be able to "scroll" the image by clicking and dragging my mouse.
- I also need to be able to paint symbols that will move when I move the image.
I really don't know where to stab at this.
Do any of you know of any tutorials that might help me along?

I've found a page with some Qt apps that allow you to edit images.
A lot of them have their source available, so you could take a look at how they handle this.
