Unsolved Easier linking to JIRA / bugreports.qt.io possible?
-
Hi,
I often find myself searching the Qt bug tracker if someone here has a problem. This tracker (JIRA) automatically creates links for patterns like QTCREATORBUG-15449. It would be awesome if I could do the same here, i.e. if QTCREATORBUG-15449 turned into
[QTCREATORBUG-15449](https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTCREATORBUG-15449)
.Reason: The link text is much shorter and focusses on the important thing: the bug number.
Now the big questions: Is that possible?
Regards

Hi,
I'm by no mean a nodebb specialist, but since it's already possible to add buttons, I think it's likely possible to write a plugin for the editor that could do that or in simpler way, add a new button that would create the link based on the given bug number.

but since it's already possible to add buttons
... glued with some JavaScript that might indeed work.
But with my current knowledge, out of scope for me :(

Based on some examples I found, I wrote the "insert code" button so that could be re-used to implement a "insert jira link". But the automatic replacement in the editor would be nicer.

Indeed.
If I had to write [QTBUG-xxx] with square brackets, that would be fine too.

I think it would be a filter with a hook to action:post.save
https://nodebb.readthedocs.io/en/latest/plugins/create.htmlBut nodebb plugins aren't my cup of tea either.
Probably taking some example plugin and mangling that would be the way to go. -
So if you ever have an internship student, that would be a task...

@aha_1980
that is actually a good idea. Oulu would be the location. -
@tekojo I did not say I volunteer ;)
(Maybe I would I was younger...)
