Copy and paste text from qt creator into other IDE pasts BOM character at beginning of string

This has been an problem size qt creator 4ish, I can't copy and paste test from qtcreator into another ide (mainly pycharm) without breaking builds and causing other annoying problems, I have to manually delete the BOM character that always gets copied in with my text, is there a way to turn that off?

mac osX 10.12.6

Hi! In Tools > Text Editor > Behavior > File Encodings you can set UTF-8 BOM to "always delete". Did you try that already?

Yes I did try that, it doesn't seam to have any effect :(
