Please help to choose component.

I need to create the chat window with possibiity to select text in the
chat (please see attachment).

I thought about TextEdit but I didn't find how to insert background under
the text of message.

Possible to use listview, but no option to select text in the chat.

Any ideas? Thank you!!

Can you use a stylesheet on the TextEdit to supply the "background" (I'm assuming you mean a background image, if not please explain).
