Is there a way to use the virtual (SIP/OSK) keyboard on Windows (7, 8 & 8.1), Mac, Android etc via Qt Quick touch based applications?

I want to press in a text box and have the system virtual keyboard appear. I have seen the answers for QtWebKit/View, however we are not using it.

I found that there is documentation and example at 5.1 that describes how it can be done with good ol' windows mobile. Does this transfer directly to the other platforms?

Is there anything that we have to do with C++ to get this to work. We don't want to have to implement a custom keyboard when the platform vendors have already done so.

If anyone has any new suggestions please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Gareth
