TextEdit font rendering scaling problem in QtQuick 1.1

and also solved in QtQuick 2.0 but due to bad non Open GL hardware I can only use 1.1.

Does anyone have a workaround for this? I tried something along the lines of:

@TextEdit{
...
property real dynamicScale // I get this from a modified resisze event
contentsScale: dynamicScale
scale: 1/dynamicScale
...
}@

But this is a horrible hack, does not work well and has unforseen consequences if you use (edit, move cursor etc) the textEdit Component.
