    Hello,
    i would like to set an application Icon (which is shown on my Desktop).

    I added
    RC_ICONS = icon.ico
    to my .pro file but my compiler says:
    mingw32-make[1]: *** [debug/01_resource_res.o] Error 1

    Does anyone know what I have to do?

    (Qt Creator 3.3.0 - Qt 5.4.0)

      Check that doc:

      http://doc.qt.io/qt-4.8/appicon.html

      There is a step by step plan on how to show .exe icon.

        @svyatoslav911512 The link is for Qt4. In Qt 5 it's simplified with RC_ICONS (like the OP posted).

        @max-253yomann What you did should be enough and it works for me. Does deleting the output directory entirely and rebuilding help? Can you check if it links if you create a new empty project and add this icon?

          @Chris-Kawa It's true for Qt5 also. I have Qt4 project with this way for setting icons and it works also if project build on Qt5. OP can use it as workaround.

            Sure, I'm just suggesting trying to find (and hopefully fix) the problem before looking for workarounds.

              Deleting the output directory and rebuilding does not work.
              Now I created a new project and now it works.

              Thank You :)
