Qt Designer will not open in ubuntu 14.04

Hi, this is my first time using this software and I'm following tutorial and I try to open Qt Designer but it dose nothing it dose not open. Please help me I really want to use this. Thanks

Just use Qt Creator.
Which tutorial are you following and what steps have you taken to open the designer?

Hi, thanks for the reply, Getting Started Programming with Qt Widgets Notepad tutorial. thats what im trying to do and it says I need to use both Qt Creator and Qt Designer.

The guide seems to be written correctly. It means the Qt Designer that is built into Qt Creator. It should be enough to double click the *.ui file in Qt Creator to open the designer. If that does not work, maybe your installation is corrupted.
Have you installed qt-sdk from Ubuntu repositories, or the official installer from Qt Project?
