Qt 5.3 camera example not working on Windows 7 64
-
I have a USB camera that is a USB Video device class device so it doesn't require any drivers. The Camera example (not the QML version) enumerates the connected device on the menu with the same name as displayed in Device Manager. When selected, I get the following messages in the Application Output:
unable to set any format for camera
Couldn't set properties (retrying)
failed to renderstream -2147024809
failed to openStream()
Stream did not open
unable to set any format for camera
Couldn't set properties (retrying)
failed to renderstream -2147024809
failed to openStream()
Stream did not openFor what it's worth the device works perfectly with a utility called AMCap - Video and Still Capture.
There's been a posted "bug":https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-33782 that lists similar symptoms but I don't know if this related.
I am looking for an Qt example that allows streaming video of a USB camera. This one just doesn't work. I know there are alternatives i.e. VLC, OpenCV etc. I though Qt would offer a solution.

I have the same problem, did you find a solution?

I did, but you will need to go through a few hurdles rebuilding the source from scratch with a "patch":https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/87794/ or wait until 5.3.2 as per the bug that was reported. I can't wait but it's not trivial to do.
