I'm considering using QML for parts of my application but I can't enforce OpenGL as a requirement.
Will Qt Quick 1 be maintained for years to come - or should we expect that it will be dropped in the near future?

Hi, and welcome to the Qt Dev Net!

Qt supports ANGLE too, on Windows Vista and later -- this uses DirectX instead of OpenGL. Just download a installer package that doesn't have "OpenGL" in its name. Qt Quick 2 works well with ANGLE.

Qt Quick 1 is deprecated. It will be maintained (i.e. serious bugs will be fixed) for the duration of Qt 5.x (which will be many years), but it will get no enhancements, and minor bugs might possibly be left unfixed.
