Which Qt download is the appropriate one for use with VS 2012
-
Very basic question:
Which installer should I select from the Download Site http://qt-project.org/downloads
I have installed Visual Studio 2012 and also Python Tools for Visual Studio 2.0. They work great. My goal now is to get a usable version of QtCreator with QtLibrary for use with these already installed applications. I see many different options on the download page, some of which mention Visual Studio, but I don't know which one to select. I have searched the forums and also looked for documentation, but can find no descriptions of these installers. Clicking on info doesn't provide information on what is actually included in the installer and what it is used for. Basically, I do not know whether to select Item 6) or one of items 1) - 3) from the list below. I am using a 64 bit Windows 8 computer, and have Python 2.7.6 installed.
Under Qt 5.2 Heading there are:
- Qt 5.2.1 for Windows 32-bit (VS 2012, 541 MB) (Info)
- Qt 5.2.1 for Windows 64-bit (VS 2012, 556 MB) (Info)
- Qt 5.2.1 for Windows 64-bit (VS 2012, OpenGL, 553 MB) (Info)
- Qt Online Installer for Windows (14 MB) (Info)
Then under QtCreator there is:
5) Qt Creator 3.0.1 for Windows (66 MB) (Info)Finally, under Other Downloads there are:
6) Visual Studio Add-in 1.2.2 for Qt5 (which supports VS 2012)Could some one please summarize what these different installations are for or else direct me to a site that provides some descriptions?

Since you use 64 bit OS then #2 or #3 is good choice the difference between them is described here "Qt 5 on Windows ANGLE and OpenGL":http://qt-project.org/wiki/Qt-5-on-Windows-ANGLE-and-OpenGL
Qt 5.2.1 includes QtCreator, So you don't need #5 if you select one of Qt installations.
Visual Studio Add-In allows to add Qt libraries to VS IDE (if it is NOT an express edition). If you are going to use QtCreator then you don't need this option. But if you prefer to develop using VS then you will need #6.
