How to configure stand-alone Creator to work with Qt5?
-
The setup looks good to me. Which problems do you have with it?
-
I get an error that says ":-1: error: Qt Creator needs a compiler set up to build. Configure a compiler in the kit options."
-
What does the compile output say?
-
that is what it says
well, that's what the output window says when i press build -
is there no guide to setting this up?
-
Apart from setting up kits in the IDE settings you need to have one of them selected in your project ( Project tab -> build&run -> Add kit).
There are tons of docs and guides on this. The starting point would be "here":http://doc-snapshot.qt-project.org/qtcreator-2.6/index.html and "here":http://doc-snapshot.qt-project.org/qtcreator-2.6/creator-configuring-projects.html

Seems Qt Creator detected the ABI of the mingw compiler wrongly. Change it manually to 32 bit.

Thanks, I tried this and i didn't have all the required things installed. For some reason, i feel more comfortable making cross-platform apps with mingw though, so i went back to trying that build.
