It's a networking problem that I encounter now and then too, when downloading stuff from this website.

I work around it using a download manager -- it can resume interrupted downloads.

(I personally use the DownThemAll! Firefox add-on, but other download managers should work too)

I have once proposed (on development ML) adding BitTorrent files to Downloads section. This would solve that kind of problems for individual people, and also lower traffic on Qt Project servers. The proposal was rejected, though, on bogus grounds that people behind a firewall would not be able to use this.

I'd support a BitTorrent path -- direct download connections break way too often for me after each new release.

There's a new Web mailing list now: http://lists.qt-project.org/mailman/listinfo/web It's still rather quiet, but perhaps these suggestions would be taken into consideration there? The plan is to move this website to Open Governance too.

True. There are lots and lots of students, people new to Qt, and FOSS/ indie developers, who are not restricted by any company's firewall. This is especially true since Qt has incorporated LGPL and the number of active developers increased significantly.

yeah, I know, but so far I have not subscribed. Time to change this, I guess. I'll renew my request there, thanks for the nudge :-)

And I got some cryptic reply on the mailing list. It seems that there will be some changes in how downloads are handled. "Link":http://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/web/2013-January/000024.html.
