I recently switched from Qt 4.8.2 on Mac OSX (10.8.2) to Qt 4.8.4.

What I'm seeing is icon sizes have gotten a lot bigger. For example toolbar icons seem to be 2x the size they were (I am using 48x48 pixel .png files for the icons).

Also, icons e.g. on dialog buttons have grown too, making dialogs look messy.

Did Digia forget to do testing on the 4.8.4 release? Is this a precursor to the problems we may have moving to Qt 5.0 (I still shudder when I think of all the effort it too to move from Qt3 to Qt4)

Hmm, this problem only appears when running on a Macbook pro with retina display. With another Macbook pro (non retina) the icons are the correct size.

        Hi, KeithS
        I have a MacBook Pro, version 10.7.5
I would like to know how you to install Qt 4.8.4 on your Mac.
        thank you

unzip/untar the qt-everywhere-commercial-src-4.8.4.tar.gz file to some folder. Run './configure' then 'make' then 'make install'. This installs the Qt libs etc. to /usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.8.4. Then in QtCreator, point to this installation.
