Hi Andre,
Why do you assume there is a moderation policy? I do not assume there is one stated for fact. No! most of the time, it is too much of a challenge for a MODERATOR to state it for it would not be as much fun.
[Emphasis by me]

It's you who are assuming there is a moderation policy:
What are the moderation policy for tags like '"container'", my only tag ever?
As already stated, there is no policy at all. Every user with at least the "Hobby Entomologist":/ranks rank can remove tags which he/she thinks are inappropriate for a certain page of content (forum, wiki, docs, others...)
What is the game in tags that don't die with user account garbage?
Tags are here for grouping related content. Why should that tag be bogus if a user decides to leave DevNet?

      Hi Andre,
The relation to the tags with the GPL/LGPL is that the tags worship it. Not everybody wants to worship GPL/LGPL of course or the "politics" involved in the GPL/LGPL game. If this moderator (who would delete a tag) is never (not just not) going to state the "tag politics" being culled then there is no way to be confident about leaving a tag with destiny. Yes, it is a negative attitude enhanced by jealous, moderator scum who would exacerbate my tag.

My prefence is to let tags die with the user account, but who cares really? I hope it is deleted.

      Thank you Andre.

This is an official warning: you're overstepping the line of acceptable language. Calling moderators on this forum "scum" is not acceptable. If you have a complaint about a user or a moderator, contact the administrators.

I quickly checked where GPL or LGPL tags are used on this forum. I did not spot any topic where they were out of order, though I might have missed one. They all were discussing licencing or mentioned the licencing of a component or piece of code. You may or may not like these licences, but you can't deny that the tags are relevant to these topics. Or do you have evidence of the contrary? I did not see evidence that the tag is used for non-releted topics on a large scale.

I gather a tag you placed has been removed by someone else. Again: that might have been done by anyone with Hobby Entomologist rank and up. There are hundreds if not thousands of those... Which page did you tag?

Do you ever read what others write?

Everyone with the appropriate rank can delete a tag, not only a moderator.

If you don't want your tags to be under (L)GPL (if that's applicable at all - setting a tag is nothing that deserves "copyright" or something similar), then don't set them.

For me, this discussion leads to nowhere. I'm out.

Hi Iama, I'm the site administrator. Please have a look at http://qt-project.org/forums/rules and kindly adjust your tone of conversation accordingly.

Tags are related to the content but we keep track of who added a tag and when. This is to provide the point rewards and to make sure people don't delete a tag and add it them selves right after to game the system. We keep the tags added by users who delete their account but if you have reason to suggest we change that feel free to present those but please do so in a respectful manner.

If you bring in the topic of GPL/LGPL in this context you need to elaborate in more detail as it's a complicated topic and it's easy to misunderstand each other. I, for one, don't understand what you mean yet.

            Thanks,
            -Marius

              Hi Volker,
Wannabe accounts will be removed with the other insincere data on them like status points instead of being recycled. These tags will be considered hypocritcal infections, not gifts left by a bogus DevNet.

In addition to an accounts' tags being considered insincere if it is deleted (and therefore the tags insincere) it is unethical, cheating, and just dumb rude to delete a tag arbitrarily without a comprehensive hyperlink to a nice chart or list showing the decisions one is involved in in the thought process(es), time, and positions of power included when tags are deleted each day or night through the Hobby Entomologist in question. Tags mean different things to different users, as do completely different words themselves in reality since it is content based on ones experiential data as well as dictionary of choice like Merriam-Webster's Online.

At the end of the day, when a wannabe is gone, should that tag be bogus? Yes, if a user decides to leave DevNet, all wannabe tags will be null. The tag will be considered to have lost all status @ DevNet.

              Thank you Volker.

                Hi Marius,
What I mean is that #1, a user's tags will be considered null when the user's account is not good. #2, a moderator will be considered a low, vile, or worthless person or group of people.

Hope this helps you understand my content.

                Thank you Marius.

                  Hi Iama,

so reading this posts, I understand that if I leave DevNet (why ever, perhaps because no more, other interests, ...) time, all hundreds (or thousands) of tags I set should be removed? I set them for easier grouping and topic finding.

But following you approach, we should perhaps also delete all posts from me then? Including the
wiki entries and all of those?

I don't see a reason for that, sorry.

-I close this thread. You still use inappropriate wording according to the rules. You've been warned.-

It should stay open to enable further discussion on the topic itself. But I will delete any other content of yours if it still does not apply to the rules stated by Marius.

I think you should not close this thread, because the initial thread and discussion is valid and important. Sadly this thread got hijacked, so if possible I think you should split the thread and then close the thread you split of.

Iama, we don't accept language like that around here. You have received an official warning from the moderators and if you keep ignoring our quite sensible rules I must ask you to stop posting on this site until you will play by the rules.
