In Qt3d, I have an articulated robot constructed out of multiple imported .3ds modules.

It works really well, and looks great. Now I want to texture some of the .3ds models.

    How to do this?

I tried doing this like in the qt3d/geometry example, but whenever I turn on the QGL::LitDecalTexture2D effect on the root node of the model, I get a segfault at runtime.

I'm using QGLAbstractScene::loadScene with the "ForceFaceted" option to import the .3ds files into QGLSceneNodes.

I just want to paint a number on the sides of some of the modules, which is why the qt3d/geometry example seemed so appropriate.
