Qt Quick on Ubuntu_10.04: Cannot Find Qt Quick

Hi, I could not find Qt Quick in Ubuntu.
I have installed qt SDK from Synaptic Package Manager, but I only got Linguist & Assistant.
I have also installed Qt Creator & Qt Designer, but could not find Qt Quick.
Right Now I have Qt 4.6.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 from Synaptic Package Manager.

I could find only Qt Quick Tutorial "HERE":http://doc.qt.nokia.com/qtcreator-2.2/creator-qml-application.html, and not more help.

Can you please kindly tell me, Where I could find Qt Quick.

Is it that I need to install SDK by downloading the one that's available on that page and install it.

That is Qt SDK 1.1.4 something about 1.3 GB.

I have installed version 0ubuntu1[lucid] from Syn Package Manager. I dont know what's the difference.

Can you please clarify?

I think that the qt on the syn package is outdate. You say have installed the qt 4.6.2, the last is the 4.8.0 (but the last sdk installer have 4.7.4).
You can simply use the sdk on line installer and install only the component that you need, in this case qt creator, qt 4.7.4, and qt quick.
With the sdk you can update the component when new update are avaiable, without using syn packege, aptitute ecc...

Will I get a similar kind of a menu?

Please tell me as I have started to work on Qt/QML today itself and have a long way to go.

can I keep them and install this copy Qt SDK 1.1.4.....?

Unistall the qt installation from syn package, and install the qt sdk from the link.
Yes after you have the qt quick editor.

I don't know this problem, are you sure the md5 is correct? But WHY you are using offline installer? It's 1.1 GB!!! Use the online installer and select only the component you need.

But, I did not know that using this offline installer will cause me these many problems.

I have already downloaded and used it, but no result because of the error.

I don't know, why or what the reason is?

I just wanted all the components and latest libraries, so went for Offline Installer, but it got me stuck, very badly, now my work has moved to more delay.

Looking forward, for someone to resolve the error.

Ok, but i don't understand why you want use OFFLINE and not ONLINE installer?

For ubuntu I found the easiest way was to go and download Qt Creator from the Ubuntu Software Center and then the package manager finds all the dependencies and what not.

I want to download OFFLINE Installer, so that I could have a copy of SDK, even if I work on other computers or on my laptop it will be useful

So i have try help you... maybe offline installer have some bug.
I use Ubuntu and online installer. All work correctly (using -style cleanlooks but this is for new style of Ubuntu).
If you want continue to offline installer, try yourself, i can only suggest the bugreport site https://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/ (the new site link is bugreports.qt-project.org)

Can you please post here, the size of your downloaded package of Qt-SDK_1.1.4 or other.

Mine is 1231056192 byte.

I didn't say I downloaded just the qt-sdk I said I downloaded QT CREATOR which bundles the qt-sdk and apparently the Qt Quick SDK separately

Probably not a wise idea to insult the very same people you are asking help from... just a thought.

Offline Installer is still in the same situation.
