Just go to Tools->Options->Version Control and there to the subversion tab and make sure the binary is found.

Subversion appears in the tools menu whenever your current project is using SVN. Why clutter the menus with inactive entries?
You can check out some project from subversion via File->New File or Project and "Other/From source control" (not sure about the exact spelling, I don't have creator around right now).

Qt Creator needs svn.exe for its subversion support.

It should be in your subversion directory.

For Windows, we recommend using the slik svn command line client (see "http://www.sliksvn.com/en/download":http://www.sliksvn.com/en/download).
