How to add a symbian target to Qt 4.7.4?

I am newbie into qt development..

• I have installed linux installable of qt 4.7.4
  -when I run the demo I only find 'desktop, simulator, harmattan' options. How do I add a symbian target?

If you used "the Online installer":http://qt.nokia.com/downloads
Then you could use the maintenance tool and select the symbian options you want.

@eddy: the maintenance tool is already present in the offline installer. I have upgraded my version with other components and as now that 4.8 beta is ready it appears in my mantenance/update package too.

the problem is I don't see the symbian target option in the maintenance tool (in the qt 4.7.4).

Any suggestions?

It is very strange. Please try with the update tool (it will be the alternative option instead of installation)

What platform are you using ? If you don't find it I will send you a screenshot :)
