Media Player Control is a mobile remote control for desktop media players. It is specialized for media players only, no server part from the desktop is needed since it uses the media players network API.

It is open-source (LGPL) and free for download on OVI Store.

Application is tested only on Symbian^3, but I don't think it will be hard to run it other mobile platforms.

I do not, yet, have a Symbian^3 device to check it, but the screenshot is beautiful! Keep up the good work Denis! :-)

          Nice work Denis!

          I voted it up.

          Only one question :
Is there a reason why you use 2 lines of buttons at the bottom? Looks a bit crowded there.
I would put the lowest toolbar at the top. Just a thought.

Congratulations for your new app. I haven't tried it yet but the idea is really cool :)

I am wondering why your app is not available for Symbian^1 devices such as Nokia 5800 and Nokia N97?

Wow, this is a nice app indeed! I just compiled it for N950 and it works well on that one :)
Only UI needs a bit fine tuning, file menu and QWidgets parts are a bit smallish for such a big resolution.
Are the rewind/forward buttons supposed to rewind/roll forward within one file? If they are, not working on N950, the file just starts over if pressed.
Anyway, even with play/pause functions, this is very useful software for me as is, thanks! :)

Eddy, UI is not stabled yet so all can be changed.

matrixx, it is not rewind/forward, it is next item/prev item in playlist :) I'm not sure rewinding is needed with position seeker, or I am wrong here?

leon.anavi, there is only one reason why I don't have them for Symbian^1. I don't have device and I can't test it.

Media Player Control is updated to 0.3.0 version. UI was rewritten using Qt Components and it now works both on S^3 and MeeGo Harmattan. Also it now supports both landscape and portrait modes. Close Player and Fullscreen features are moved to menu.

                    !https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-iSws5gOez7A/Tm9oyILkaCI/AAAAAAAABak/cntC_hwD8_Y/s400/1-MediaPlayerControl.png(MeeGo Harmattan Landscape)!

Harmattan version is already in OVI Store and new S^3 version is now in QA process.

P.S. Current Harmattan version in Store is a bit different from this screenshot (white toolbar instead of black) because I found theme.inverted property only after submitting app to Store.

                      Great!
Compliments, Dennis. It is a great base for a lot of possibilities :)

it uses Qt components right? Is there a way to run it on N900? it looks good.. and I want to try it, but I have no Symbian ^3

iktwo, yep, it uses qt-components. Not sure about n900 (don't have one). AFAIK there are no components for n900, so it is not possible to run it there.
