The wiki article at "http://qt-project.org/wiki/Qt-5-on-Windows-8-and-Metro-UI":undefined speculating about Qt on Windows 8 is outdated

    • article says Win 8 is in prerelease; it is in release and soon to be updated to 8.1
    • The Metro UI designation has been changed to Modern UI

      Hi,

That page is somebody's report on his preliminary investigations from mid-2012 -- it's a snapshot in time, not a source of up-to-date info, so I think it can be left as-is. I guess a wiki format isn't ideal for storing static documents like reports though.

If you're interested, the latest word on Qt + Windows RT is at http://blog.qt.digia.com/blog/2013/06/14/introduction-to-windows-rt-frameworks/

Microsoft never announced an official replacement for "Metro", actually. "Modern", "Windows 8 Store" and "Microsoft Design Language" are various alternatives that quietly crept into use.

Thanks for the info. Gotta agree, a wiki is not the ideal host for the sort of article that will become outdated like that. Maybe it could be prefaced with something to that effect rather than updated.

As for Modern, that term has been used by many Microsoft evangelists so it seemed official. But I'll take your word for it unless I learn otherwise.

        Edit: here's some insight "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_UI_(design_language)#Naming_issues":undefined
