One obvious way to "aggregate" threads around groups would be to tag them.

I think allowing the "group owner" to list some "key tags" under the group page would help group members find and share threads that are interesting to the group.

It is a very low-tech method of accomplishing this but may be just enough. Another option would be to allow people to "bookmark" threads under the group "directory" but don't see any real benefit to create one more "tagging system"

By the way, I know that some groups have specific forums. The issue is that moving threads to other forums is not a good practice and "interesting" threads to the group may start anywhere.

Good idea! It seems sensibly. Though for any groups it's not needed.
Example, linux group, Now all topics about linux marked tag "linux". This is also true for Windows, MacOS, etc.

I agree that for some other groups is less obvious and then more interesting but I don't see how it can hurt to have on the "Windows group" page a link to the tag "windows" that will trigger a search.

I agree with Vass and fcrochik, even though regional groups will translate some articles that they are interested in hopefully, so they will have discuccions about them too.

            I agree,
Group page should have tagging system.

But tagging in regional group means tag in their own language ?
            Isn't it ?
So, It is easy to find using tag search.

I don't think that is a good idea to add foreign tags and a new tagging system to the groups. It would just mess up things, and I think most of us now what 'tag' or 'group' means, so ...

I like the idea. It might result in more consistent tagging and will give results based on suggestions. We will look into it.
