In tags list there is tag "0", but searching for this tag shows no result. It's not the problem with numbers I think (for example tag "404" can be found), somethig else is the reason.

UPD. Please don't tag this post or any others with tag "0" for clear environment.

The tag "0" is only used in this post:

      http://developer.qt.nokia.com/forums/viewthread/315/

Probably something special with 0, 1 works just fine.

Having single letter/number tags is probably not a good idea anyhow.

This sounds like a bug triggered by the classical example you find in the first lessons of a book in some dynamic language, where it's shown why "0" is not the same as 0 (without quotes) in some comparisons, but it is in other (e.g. the === operator in PHP).

BTW, why would you want to tag something as "0"? Would "zero" be a replacement?

In that particular thread that marius mentioned, it does make sense, as it's about using 0 or NULL for null pointers.

I’d be well ready to remove that tag, any opposition? :)

For this post, I’m not also sure about that tag called ”tag”, ”tagging” could be ok, though... And that ”zero” I don’t get at all... And ”search” and ”beta”, maybe ”searching” would be acceptable. Others may actually have some value... :)

As for me tags should be nouns, not verbs.

Feel free to review this for tagging guidelines:

I don't get why everyone tags threads in the 'Beta Testing' forum as 'beta'. If this is desired, perhaps they could be auto-tagged or perhaps when you search for 'beta' it includes threads from 'Beta Testing'.
As for 'tag' and 'tagging' maybe they can be merged.
As for 'zero', '0', I don't think people would search for this when having an issue with 0/NULL. They'd use other words to describe the problem as those words are too common and short.

I've re-tagged the various tags related to tagging to "tag". (say that 6 times really fast..) :)

This whole tagging thingy is confusing, as people are adding things they think that describes something in the post, not something people could try to use when trying to find posts. Tags are, after all, just freeform keywords of the thread/page.

                          Consider this case:
User wants to find html tag that explains how to add header to wiki page.

Instead user is referred to this page, because user searches with “how to add header tag to wiki page”, and this post is tagged with “tag”.

Then user searching how to tag posts, user is more likely to match actual topic of the page, something like “How to tag” or just “tagging”.

I used tagging as synonym for adding tags. ...and since it's a singular form ;)
