Editing Wiki
-
Hi everyone,
I am new here (and new to QT too :) ) and I'd like to do things correctly. When I find something in a wiki article that I think should be fixed, should I just fix it myself, or add a comment below and have someone check it first?1st Example:
Links in this article "http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/Category:LanguageBindings::PySide::Newbie_Tutorials":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/Category:LanguageBindings::PySide::Newbie_Tutorials didn't work, so I edited the page and fixed that.2nd Example:
On this page "http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/WikiSyntax":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/WikiSyntax scroll down to Add a Table of Contents and you will see that someone instead of editing the page, commented on changes he/she would suggest bellow the "error" (line starting with "//")Which is the correct approach?
Also if you go to http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/Category:LanguageBindings::PySide , you will find that there are 7 subcategories and two of them are "Newbie_Tutorials" and "Newbie Tutorials" and only "Newbie_Tutorials" is a valid article. Is there a way for me to fix that?
Thanks in advance for reply.

Hi! Welcome to DevNet.
If you're sure about the changes (fixing a typo or some code snippet that's broken, etc), it's usually ok to edit the page directly. Of course, it's not limited to that two examples. If you have doubts whether it's ok or not, this forum is the best place to talk about it.
Regarding your 2nd example:
That two comments are here for purpose. If one removes the space from the line before, the wiki engine gets confused and interprets the tags instead of putting the into code section, so please leave the comments here.Regarding the categories:
I don't know what went wrong here. Both pages show the same content. I'll ping the wiki admins (mariusg & Alexandra) to have a look here. Thanks for pointing it out. BTW: usually it's best in such a case to open a new thread, it'll be catched up eventually.
