    Hi.

    I used the "Download the Qt Online Installer" link near the bottom of this page:
    https://www.qt.io/download-open-source

    What I'm looking for is an open source installer for macOS running on the Apple M1 architecture. The only option for macOS presented by this link is an installer named qt-unified-macOS-x64-4.3.0-online.dmg, whose name very much suggests it's for the Intel x64 architecture instead of the Apple M1 architecture.

    I did try double clicking this installer file on an M1-based Mac, and I received a pop-up telling me I needed to install Rosetta, which I believe is an emulation layer that allows x64 code to run on an M1-based machine. I did not install this software, nor do I wish to.

    Is there an open source install kit for macOS running on M1? Or is such a kit only available with the licensed version of Qt?

      @dcoup https://www.qt.io/blog/qt-on-apple-silicon

      I believe that you can build on M1 for M1, however some bits will still need rosetta.

      For more information please re-read.

      Kind Regards,
      Artur

        The installers by The Qt Company do not have a ARM based variant just yet, but it is being worked on. See also https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTIFW-2438 .

          @kkoehne That ticket seems to refer to Qt v5.15. I'm looking for a macOS M1 installer for Qt v6.2. Since the ticket refers to Qt v5.15, does that mean the ticket is for back porting M1 installers to older versions, and there already is an M1 installer for Qt v6.2?

            The ticket says that Qt 5.15 is used to build the installer. You use this installer to install various versions of Qt.
