Qt on Pi not working, try CDP instead.

  • Spent some days trying to get Qt to run on PI3, Just doesn't work. Bugs and half made tuto's everywhere. So this post is just a tip to others who also want to run Pi.

Then I got a tip about CDP Studio. Tried it out and in less than 30 minutes I had a full graphical demo running on the Pi with touch screen and everything just working. Now that felt like magically easy. Qt got a lot to learn. Until they do. Give CDP Studio a try if you want to run on Pi. Just my 5 cents.

  • Actually it's the other way around. To use effectively the programmer has to learn a lot. Far too often kiddies think they can read a few samples and then design full professional Qt applications. There is a real and substantial time investment in learning the Qt framework.
