    Hi All,

Today I experienced a problem when I tried to post a link using a URL that contains brackets:
    http://www.developer.nokia.com/Community/Wiki/Developer_Certificate_(Symbian_Signed)

In preview mode the last bracket is not taken as part of the URL and it is displayed.

    Example: "link":http://www.developer.nokia.com/Community/Wiki/Developer_Certificate_(Symbian_Signed)

As a result the link points to a non existing page :( Am I doing something wrong? Is there a workaround for this issue?

    Thanks,
    Leon

You're not doing anything wrong, the textile parser is not just as smart as it should be (yet).

OK, I see. Please excuse me if this is an already reported issue. Is there a plan how to solve it?

Is it possible and reasonable to implement the "MediaWiki syntax for external links":http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Links#External_links as an alternative?

I believe that this issue will not appear using their syntax and all users of Qt Dev Net will have two options for posting links. :)

The textile syntax is in use everywhere on this site, MediaWiki uses their own markup as their syntax. So we will find a way to fix textile (by that I mean our implementation of it), but not switch to another markup.

URLs containing brackets do also break. See this "thread":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/forums/viewthread/10712/.
