it occurred after removing the ~/Qt directory and possibly some other directories. Qtcreator crashed every time I would open it with ConnectionServer error: "QLocalSocket: Remote closed" "/tmp/QtCreator-KWIFlC/ClangBackEnd-2152783" I was attempting to reinstall so I could use the QtCharts library. Qtcreator is now working after using the online installer and only installing version 6.2.1 along with no other versions.
