Hi, this is to mention a strange behavior I have seen systematically while posting new threads in the forum sections.

The first problem refers to the preview mode: the first time the prveiw mode is called while editing the post, it shows only very few lines and it is very difficult to see the aspect when the article is a bit long. Then it is sufficient to change something in the editor and call the preview again that it opens with more than acceptable height.
In some cases (checked on safari and firefox browsers, it is sufficient to press the preview button twice to have the preview window resized correctly.

The second is the link management. Selectin a text in the editor it is possible to set a link to a previous post. Very useful when the post cite other posts, previous areas in the devnet etc. The link is set correctly if the selected text is plain. If the link is inserted in a text block that has some decoration i.e. italic or bold then the link won't work.

Here is an example of a link added to a piece of italic text.

@_"Qt for embedded platforms on LPC3250 - Thumb mode error on make":Qt for embedded platforms on LPC3250 - Thumb mode error on make_ @

The problem seems that the link button don't care of the emphatisazion characters '_' and '*' so the result is that the second italic character becam part of the link that consequently result broken.

I have also faced the first problem you talked about. Would be good if the preview window problem fixed.

I have seen this reply by you on Jira as well. What does it mean? I thought Jira is the tasktracker? It looks like you are using another, internal system again for tracking tasks?

              Hi Enrico,

Jira is just another name for the bugtracker system. You have been there when you made a bugreport. ;)

Jira is the public task tracker. The web trolls in Oslo have another, internal tracker (how could they keep track with all the little bugs and glitches reported on IRC or via email without that :-) ).

We just tested it and concluded that

The preview issue - this is intentional behaviour and it works the same way in all browsers I've tested. The first time you click preview it will open at a certain size. You'll have the scrollbar on the right which you can use to scroll to the part you'd like to preview. If you hit preview again it will resize to the full size.

Italic links works, when using the correct syntax:

                      @
Here's an "Qt Developer Network":http://www.developer.qt.nokia.com that works.
                      @

                        Test "Custom Object ":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/forums/viewthread/7608/#45284

Well, thank you for the clarifications. As a matter of fact, the link works. I have no idea of what was the trouble.

As for the question of the preview, I saw that it is needed a double-click. Happy to know that it what was wanted... Only noted that don't seems the most efficiente method for a preview of anarticle.
