Today I publish something in the Bulgaria group and (as this was my first such post) I wondered if the others will recieve notification ... this thread gives me the answer.

I vote with both hands for this feature!

In my opinion it won't be bad implementation if the group updates appear as new post (at the right part of the screen).

I've just discovered that the group has a RSS ... after all it is possible to follow what is happening in the group. Yet it would be easier if it is implemented here :)

No, I am in the same group and I did not receive email notification for the update.

On the settings tab of each group you can check if you want to receive emails from the groups. I don't know if this is connected to the updates. Marius?

I beleive it is not connected. I have not received any notification to any updates yet (although I have checked this checkbox)

I have checked "Get mail from this group" at the user settings on the settings tab of this group. I guess that emails are not send when an update is posted, are they?

So may be sending an email on group update is also a useful feature :)

                  P.S.

Emails from group I think are the emails that group owner can send from group adminpanel (there is such functionality, but I have never tried it).

Yes, you are right. I have use it this functionality once in Qt Bulgaria group - to send information about the Qt Ambassador Program to the members. All members who have enabled emails should have received it.
