An update for the device software was just announced by Nokia in this "article on the beta labs":http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-software-updater-for-mac

bq. The Nokia Software Updater for Mac is a basic application for updating device software.
This release candidate supports only device software updates. Support for application updates will be released later.

The latter could be interesting in the future.

Linux might also get some love according to this: "http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-software-updater-for-mac/suggestion/25014/linux-support#comment-63849":http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-software-updater-for-mac/suggestion/25014/linux-support#comment-63849

Hm, aren't they eating their own dog food? I mean, Qt, cross-platform, why not all platforms at once :)

Oh, Qt has a long cross-platform tradition, true. But unfortunately not all tools ever written use Qt. Plus Qt does not cover everything. Especially all the low level hardware access stuff necessary to flash a device is not well represented in Qt.

Tobias, I was just kidding :) Of course I know that there a couple of low-level stuff here that need to be sorted out.

I'm happy to see that Linux is a possible target for the app.
