QML text size DRASTICALLY different between 4.8.3 and 4.8.4

I have a Qt application that uses QML for the GUI. I have been making regular builds of the SDK for the past few months. Recently the git moved from 4.8.3 to 4.8.4. So here is my problem. If all I do is switch the libraries from 4.8.3 to 4.8.4, repackage the code and run it (on the SIM as well as the device) the font size is MUCH bigger (need to divide the size by about 2.2 to get it to the same size).
Does anyone have any idea as to why this might be?

If you consider this to be a bug, please report it on JIRA - Digia is preparing 4.8.4 right now, libs are currently in RC state, so they probably need this info asap.
