The idea of this group is to offer a forum for independent developers to discuss the challenges and opportunities of working with Qt development.

I would like to invite to join the group all developers working on Qt open source projects, consultants and independent developers (or part of small teams) working on commercial applications.

            Welcome!

I have also requested a forum so we can actually start...

In the meanwhile I created a simple image for the group.... Not anything fancy or definitive, just wanted to have something there.... Please comment on that and feel free to send me any images/ideas about that. Once we have a forum we can vote and decide

Why it is not an auto-join group?

No reason in particular... It was the default option.

I had planned to ask around before changing it. I do agree that auto-join makes more sense... I will change right now.

Done! Should I request a wiki for the group?

I have already requested a forum because I think it is a needed tool for this group.

fcrochik, if you have ideas what should be in wiki then request one. I don't have any ideas :)

I just did.... I am sure we will find an use for it once we have it. If nothing else I would like to add a link there to the wiki with the list of qt open source projects.

Maybe we can also use it to showcase applications developed by members.

I tried to start a wiki. Please check it out and contribute.

                        Until we have a forum:

                        1. this is probably the best place to discuss the group
                        2. on the "wiki":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/groups/independent_developers/wiki I listed tags that are "close" related to the group, clicking on them will start a search. It seems like a good solution for me to "collect" threads that are interesting to the group w/o having to actually move them to a different forum. What do you think?
