I tried to change the image for the group but got errors even when using the recommended services. I finally got one URL to work...

    The two that failed:
    http://imgur.com/SF32p
    http://tinypic.com/r/15d0u4g/7

I assume it may be related to not having the file extension on it. This one worked:

Please disregard this. After posting I clicked on the links and found out that they are actually links to the "page" and not to the actual image. My bad.... have never used these services before...

-Admins: please feel free to close and/or delete this thread.-

Tinypic for example, you use not direct link to image, Direct link is http://i54.tinypic.com/15d0u4g.jpg

I once stepped on that trap too, maybe worth a short wiki article (showing which link on tinypic to use, etc.)

Maybe this thread is not so useless as I thought.

One "notes" line on the upload group image should do the trick but I realize that it maybe easier to write a wiki than having that one page changed.

We can add a little note on that page.

Currently it reads: "It must be a direct link to an image hosted on either share.ovi.com, TinyPic or ImgUR, and must be 60x60 pixels."

How about something like this instead: "It must be an image hosted on either share.ovi.com, TinyPic or ImgUR, and must be 60x60 pixels. Make sure to use the direct link to the image (usually with a .png at the end) and not to the HTML page showing the image."

              Looks ok?

It should do the trick.... I would just get the "direct link" in bold letters! :)
