I think that is a great idea, it will be upgrade navigation on the site and you can remember link like http://edu.qt.nokia.com/ but this http://qt.nokia.com/services-partners/qt-in-education/qt-in-education-course-material is a little difficult :) and maybe with time this subdomain can be multi language of course with help from qt community :)

sorry for my broken english :)

What's wrong with the already existing http://qt.nokia.com/learning?

Even I feel that there is no issue with the current links. Even the current developer homepage gives good amount of visibility to learning and certification.

Good to get feedback including all opinions! Don't forget to "vote" with the respective poll ;)

Nothing is "wrong"! The proposal goes with a subdomain-approach instead of a directory-approach. And ... it is just a proposal! :)

Yes it does, and it is a positive thing. However, since I see the learning-related information growing fast, it could emphasize how useful Qt is for education with this. Just my 2 cents ;)

IMHO, a new subdomain does not automatically promote the contents. I thinks it's much more important to put the links to some prominent place.

I agree "http://qt.nokia.com/services-partners/qt-in-education/qt-in-education-course-material":http://qt.nokia.com/services-partners/qt-in-education/qt-in-education-course-material is cumbersome, but not sure about having a separate sub-domain either..

The learning pages are related, but Qt in Education is focused on learning for a different audience (teachers and students at educational institutions). That doesn't always matter, but sometimes it does.

Thanks for all the thoughts, though. If you have more, keep them coming, and I am sure we'll at least be able to find a better solution than today's.

Just noticed that today the "home page ":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/ has focused on Qt Education. May be its just due to the release of course material.

Though we have http://qt.nokia.com/learning there should also be a http://qt.nokia.com/teaching?

                          Very interesting answer Hanne! :)

I would just like to point out the importance of the part of your answer that I quote. I would agree that Qt's learning pages and Qt in Education is not always synonymous.

Anyway, if you think that a subdomain is to much, you could always go for an "edu" subdirectory such as

                          http://qt.nokia.com/edu/

                          specifically focused on education.

To conclude, you have, IMHO, a good thing going on here (with the GPL/LGPL licenced Qt SDK and with Qt in Education) and it is my intention (and the intention of other teachers/professors/researchers/etc) to help. :)

I -obviously- voted yes as well, so if you are correct that would make us ... two bad guys! ;)

Three bad guys! I like subdomains and also I think that the page can be filled with highlights or testimonials from people using the educational material.
