I tried it, and no, you only get an error message that your post is empty.

No. You cannot save an empty reply. Mostly there's left a

          [delteted because xyz...]

          from the user.

Volker, when I (and other moderators too, I think) see such editions I usually delete them.

Even if there are replies that reference the deleted post?

What is the problem of delete post?
Maybe some user can write a 'bad words' and after delete the post? Then user have just reply to that post. Ok, if the user delete many more post is consider 'garbage' from the devnet.
Maybe for prevent this a delete function can delete 10 points (add post +5, so every delete -5 points), this can damage a normal delete from a confusion, ok, but this can prevent many other problem. I have see many forum use the delete function, maybe only me i don't see many problem.

Yeah, it happend to me several time, I always reopen the thread in another tab, and check it (and also make a crtl+a and a crtl+c), before hitting the Post reply button. But it would be great to have an automate which warns me to decide whether refresh the page (my entry should be saved and stay in the Post a reply box), or post anyway. Maybe you should make suggestion on bugreports just as Gerolf suggested earlier ;).

This feature would be really one of the most useful feature. I wont say when user clicks post, his post should be cancelled or abandoned rather I would prefer if some one has already posted in last two min then that post should be popedup for user to have look and if user still wants to post then another click of Post should finally post it.

I have faced similar problem yesterday in which , I already posted the answer, but it is not displaying my answer.

I tried second time but server is not accepting my answer. And gives me server code error.
After some time I refresh the page my answer is already there.
It means server is not accepting the same answer two times in a row.

Gerolf, you are right, and I will now then, I just wanted to let the privilige to the original suggerter :)

                                Hi CreMindES,
I think, if the suggestion of creationg a suggestion in bugtrapper comes up, the person should directly create it. it does not help, if we then discuss, who does it in the forum. I know, the first time, I did it the same way ;-)

The "Redmine":http://www.redmine.org/ issue tracker tool has a nice and simple implementation of this feature, if you hit reply and the issue has been updated you are: presented with the new update - you get a warning - and your written text is also there (no loss). So then you can edit as needed and reply or cancel.

                                    Sounds good?

We can log a feature request with the vendor of the forum software for this, since it's a core feature and out of scope for us (for now).
