      It probably is what it means :)
      Promote another user to become (shared?) owner of the group that you are not owner. No?

          I think so, move group "mastership" or "ownership" to someone else

                  Yep, just to confirm, it makes a fellow member an owner of the group, together with you. I've made Alexandra a co-owner of the Site Moderator group in this way.
