Poll: Should the maximum width of the DevNet pages be constrained?

Well I use N97 and don't feel comfortable loading and zooming these pages to read the posts.

Seriously, Opera Mini 5.1 Beta 2 (SIS) - it's new. On any Symbian^1^ / Symbian^3^. It's crazy fast and great for big pages. Combine with Swype for fast text entry.

You won't need mobile versions of any page again. Except Facebook Touch.
Then maybe you'll change your mind.

xsacha, not sure about "You won’t need mobile versions of any page again". Mobile versions are always usable from small screens because of less control elements, more organized content and so on.

generally, to wide page makes very little sense, it's harder to read a long line and esp. to switch to the next line.
Newspaper articles have comlumns for this reasons. That's proved historically.

Also a mobile version of devnet site would be just great! Almost everyone of us, I guess, has a smartphone. Pages optimized for width of 640px would be ideal for that.
Make another domain for mobile users. E.g. http://mobile.developer.qt.nokia.com (or a shorter link)

Amount of control elements can be the same, but these elemets can be relocated, e.g. from side to top/bottom

infoctopus, relocated and maybe hided for default. So it will save so needed space at small screens.

I think it's ok if side content will be at top and bottom of a mobile page. So all width is for page content

That problem doesn't occur on Opera Mini. All the interface just pops up and you can zoom straight in to the comment/box and it fits in the screen nicely -- all readable.
It might take a while to load if you use Opera Mobile of course.
