if you see the profile page of any member, it lists the most recent wiki pages edited, making it very easy to access recent work.
likewise it would be good to list the recent posts (say most recent 5 or 10 posts) the user has edited/replied.

right now I have to click on the link to "view all posts" and then access my recent forum replies ...

Sounds like a good idea to me, I'll run it past the team and see what we can do. Thanks!

Yup, sounds good. Let's figure out how to display that in a clever way so we don't clutter the profile completely. Built-in bookmarks, maybe?

You could reduce the number of wiki page edits in half and use the new space for five forum posts.

It would be nice to have a quick access to the latest posts, but I have to disagree about the solution!
I like the clean style of the Profile pages just as it is. But we have already got a panel entry, called My latest threads, on the right side of the Profile page, and maybe the perfect solution would be to expand the number of the displayed entries from 1 to 5. :)
It's another question than, to leave the "View all posts by ..." link in the "How to reach ..." paragraph, or export it to the bottom of "My latest threads". I'm not sure about this yet...

ps. oh, and please do something with the "Most recent forum post" label, because it's displayed in two lines on my display in FF, Chrome, and in some resolutions... thanks :)

hi CreMindES, "My latest threads" lists only the threads that were created by the user, and not the replies posted by the user. And I like your idea of making this list expand to 5 entries from the current 3 as shown in my browser.

For the "Most recent forum post" label issue, you should start a new thread in the Beta forum as a [suggestion] or log one directly in the bugreports website :)

But: Why is the layout of the right toolbar so different between WIKI context and FORUM context?

                  FORUM

                  • Profile Section
                  • "My latest threads"
                  • "Qt DevNet Blog"

                  WIKI

                  • Profile Section
                  • "Stuff by staff"
                  • "Latest pages"
                  • "Top 10 categories"

I think the analogy (or equality on the other hand) could be improved some more. Whereas I'd prefer to have the analogy approach forced, because it's a newer concept.

Yes the menus are different, but the wiki buttons [edit] [Article history] are not placed very good.
                  BTW: what means [Report] ?

Yeah, I've figured it out as soon as I hit the post reply button. But I still wouldn't like the idea of complicating the Profile page. Maybe an extra link to the Forum page somewhere, or gonzalo's idea is the solution, but I'm keep thinking about it :)

It's such a little bug, that's why I mentioned it here, but you are right, and I will start a new thread for it.

We tailor the "personal bar" to the type of content that you're looking at. I agree that we can do more and better in this area.

The [report] link is for you to report some post or comment to the admins for any reason you think is important. Mostly it's "this is spam", "please delete my test wiki page", "whops, I think I messed up something here" etc. Especially if you find potential copyright violations or inappropriate content we want and need to hear about it. Hope that explains it!

Is it right, that the revision is added to the link? But the report must be by hand using forum or mail?

I'm not sure I understand. To report something just click the link and write something in the box. Then the admins get a mail alerting them to your report.

and we can probably add favorites and threads subscribed to in similar expandable rows ... remember an earlier discussion was there on bookmarks/favorites .. not sure when it'll be implemented

From usability testing we know that people prefer to scroll a bit rather than use portlet navigation (things that change only a small part of the page) to access important information. So in theory adding 220 vertical pixels to show the latest forum activity without any interaction beats adding navigational features to toggle the content of an area. To turn it around; there should be a good reason to "hide" valuable information from the viewer unless you have to. Do we have to? Will the profile page be overly cluttered and/or long?

But usability without testing is like art, it's hard to be sure :)
