Italian translations of Getting Started Articles
-
Dear all italian translators, we have 2 copy of each of the article to translate.
For the Getting started with Qt article, we have:
1- "getting_started_with_qt_italian":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/getting_started_with_qt_italian from allebacco
2- "Introduzione_a_Qt":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/Introduzione_a_Qt from jdbastardyFor the getting started with QML article we have:
3- "Introduzione_Alla_Programmazione_Con_QML":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/Introduzione_Alla_Programmazione_Con_QML from stuk and allebacco
4- "Guida_introduttiva_alla_programmazione_con_QML":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/Guida_introduttiva_alla_programmazione_con_QML from sergio.bassanWe should merge these translation to get one good translation for both the getting started articles.
For example:
I've read the article 4 and i think that the section "Implementing a Drawer Interface" which is translated in "Implementare una interfaccia a scomparsa" is better that the same section in article 3. But we should discuss about it.I post this thread to improve communication between us, so i hope that we make good use.
-
Why sergio.bassan have create new qml translator? I have just post a question for who want collaborate with the translation more days ago!
Maybe is a better idea read and modify the existent Qml
FOR EVERY ITALIAN TRANSLATOR, IMPROVE THE EXISTENT DOC! DON'T CREATE NEW!
-
I start the merging process for the 3 and 4 article. I will improve the 3 article with the best of bot the two translation.
Please stuk and sergio read the 3 tranlsation to check that what i write is good.
I stop merging at "Creazione della pagina del menù", If anyone can go on.

Hello allebacco and all translators,
I would like to take part to the revision process; though I have no so much spare time, I would like to contribute to translate Qt which I use (but not in my language!!!).
But before starting, from my small experience of FOSS translator, I would warmly suggest to use the guidelines that we mandatory use when translating software; you can find guidelines and glossaries both for "GNU/Gnome":http://tp.linux.it and for "KDE":http://kde.gulp.linux.it/ (some differences between them, for the sw I translate I use the former); they assure uniformity among translations, same style, rule and words; for example, Benvenuti could be used instead of Benvenuto (to not make differences between a male and a female reader...), widget is male, line is riga (not linea), menù and menu depends on Gnome or KDE convention (probably for Qt is better the latter) and so on.
Please let me know your opinion on the proposal
-
Hello catanzag, thanks for your tips.
I think you are right when you say that we shoult use some guidelines. If you haven't much time to translate, you can help us by checking whether there are inconsistencies in the translations.
I think we can follow KDE guidelines. Here are some links:
":http://kde.gulp.linux.it/wiki/index.php/Suggerimenti_lessicali"http://kde.gulp.linux.it/wiki/index.php/Glossario_KDE
":http://kde.gulp.linux.it/wiki/index.php/Glossario_KDEThis is a team work: any suggestion is wellcome!

Sorry, I'm a noob and didn't check it before. The other translation seems good enough, the only point is the use of the future tense (as in the original) while I prefer a present tense. I tend to expect this from tutorials, it means: let's do it, don't wait...
Same opinion as catazang on the necessity of writing standard..
-
No problem, sergio, your translation is very useful to correct the other translations.
About the tense, i think you are right: present tense is nicer than future tense.
I found this italian tutorial about Qt:
"http://www.digitalfanatics.org/projects/qt_tutorial/it/index.html ":http://www.digitalfanatics.org/projects/qt_tutorial/it/index.html
We can use a similar style: at the beginning of each article's section we'll make use of future tense to describe what we're going to do, while within the section we'll use the present tense to explain what we are doing.
What do you think about it? -
just fine...
next step ?
merge and fix articles? who'll do it?
remove duplicates? that's easythen, the sky's the limit...
-
yes, i have already started the merging process over "this":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/Introduzione_Alla_Programmazione_Con_QML article .
i reach the section "Costruire un editor di testo".
you can go on or you can review for error from the start of the article.moreover we can chose what is the best between article 1 and 2 to start the merging process of "getting started with qt".
-
Alexandra said that we should merge the docs after the end of the Call of Babel FIshes
-
Hi, i have control the merge of allebacco an i had the translation of Qt "wiki home":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/wiki/Wiki_Home_Italian.
-
I am ready to merge my article with allebacco's one
