Submitting QtDevNet bug reports and suggestions

Before posting about a new bug or suggestion please have a look at the current "JIRA issues":http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?mode=hide&requestId=11794. A quick "search on the site":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/search will tell you if what you want to post about has been discussed before. You can vote on issues there btw.
When that is done we can jump to the next step. If you are familiar with submitting bug reports for Qt this will be easy as pie.
We have a project in bugreports.qt.nokia.com for this, go to this link:
"http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTWEBSITE":http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTWEBSITEWhen submitting a bug or a suggestion please select the component developer.qt.nokia.com in the Qt Websites project, like this:
For bugs: Make sure you write down what browser/OS you are on, and if you have a screenshot it would help a lot.
If you're interested in joining the efforts of making this site the ultimate Qt resource please consider joining the "DevNet Meta":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/groups/devnet_meta group.
Thanks!

Thanks!
One note: don't forget to login before submit a bug :)
I've spent some minutes to understand, why I can only view bugs. -

I can say one thing about the http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com is that, it is a mess.
It is quite difficult to find my bugs if "watch" option is not activated while submitting the bug.

"http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com":http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com is rather feature rich and it can take some time before you get 100% comfortable with it. On the other hand it's one of our core systems where hundreds of people are hard at work, it's bound to be a busy place.
Try looking around; I have a link called ""My Unresolved Reported Issues":http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&reporterSelect=issue_current_user&resolution=-1" on the dashboard that could be the one you're looking for?
If all else fails there is always the user guide: "http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/JIRA+User's+Guide":http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/JIRA+User's+Guide

It wasn't immediately obvious for me that despite I just created an account and logged in the Qt Dev Network I need to create yet another account to report a bug with QTDN :) Can these two accounts be linked somehow?

Okay, I submitted the bug report. Two more notes:
Could you at least visibly indicate for newcomers that the QtDN account and the bug reporter account are in no way connected?
I know it's not your fault, but sending out the user's password (not even a temporary or a randomly generated one) in plain text via email, which JIRA does, is a no-no.

I found the QT_DEBUG and QT_NO_DEBUG macros in Qt source. I currently use these in my Qt applications, but they cannot be found in Qt documentation.
The doc for these macros is just missing or these macros should not be used ?

Update: Our bugreport site will support OpenID in the future.

Hi Marius,
maybe the original post here could be changed to cover suggestions too? As far as I know, not only bugs, but suggestions should be reported in the tracker, too? -

Is there any plans to add a possibility to send personal messages?

Open a user's profile and click on "Send email"?

Yes it can be done by this way.
But i mean messages inside site engine.
Maybe it is not nessesary but however, communicate using only one resource is more convenient. -

I think it is considdered "Out of Scope" for devnet. Sometimes, that is a pitty, but on the other hand I understand very well the team needs to prioritize. They don't feel like duplicating webmail into DevNet.
