For now there are 2 layouts of pages (by stretch attribute). One is used at mainpage, memberlist, profile (maybe some other pages) and is not stretchable, The orher one is used at all other pages and is stretchable. I understand that changing main page to be stretchable is something not trivial and maybe not needed. But all other pages I think should be stretchable.

tamhanna, I agree with you, but it can be done with max-width, not static width.

Well if you're making it slimmer (not wider), why not also make the sidebar smaller or just remove it completely if needed. Put important info on top of screen. Also, you could make the poster name, picture and links smaller. Turn it more in to a column.
Heck, you'd end up with a mobile page :P. m.developer.qt.nokia.com?

xsacha, mobile version of DevNet is not bad idea, but not sure it should be made now. I prefer waiting for being more mature than now before mobile version will be touched.

Expanding to the width of the browser is a good thing. Sometimes there are contents that can better be viewed with a broad browser.

I don't know what this is related to ultra wide screens, other than that you browser window is in maximize mode. That would be nothing a web designer should be concerned of.

Volker, I think that max-width should be here (for example somewhere near 2k pixels, hehe). Such way of using ultra wide screens is of course not a problem of web designer, but web designer can do things that will help even in this odd case.

Why should it be? If I want it that wide why should anyone in the world forbid it to be it that wide?

Volker, reasonable enough, but... as I think mostpart of users will be ok with max-width (and it is standard behavior of many web-sites). Maybe you can make a poll with this question? It will help dev-team when they will be able to make this change in design.

                    Good idea, Denis.

I started a "new thread with a poll on this topic":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/forums/viewthread/2165/
