Qt job prospects in India
-
Hello everybody!
I'm a student and a newbie to Qt. I really like the framework and would like to start my career with Qt. I'm currently looking for a job and it would be really helpful if someone could tell me some companies in India (preferably Bangalore) who work on Qt and also hire freshers. I'm really looking forward to working on Qt. I'm a Computer Science Post Graduate.
Thanks!
P.S. : I wasn't sure if posting this question in Qt India forum would be as effective as posting it here.
EDIT: Sam suggested I go through "this":http://www.qtcentre.org/threads/12-Indian-Companies-Using-Qt If anyone has got more information, please do let me know.

enhaced ur skill ,,,,,
and start as freelance programmer .... -
Hi MuhamedAuda!
I'm sorry but freelance is not an option for me right now. I'm looking for full time jobs. Would you be knowing of any?
-
Moved to Jobs forum
An excellent way to start is to get involved in open source projects. That will give you both experience and visibility, and the nice thing is: you're able to show off your code during job interviews. :-)

Hi Andre!
That's a great tip! Thanks. Where do you think I should post these projects? I've made a couple of them but it's just lying around collecting dust.
-
Some open repository would work, but you'd have to make some noise around it as well. Also, I suggest you considder joining a more visible open source project of your liking.
-
Hmm. It's going to be hard. I'll give it a try anyway. Thanks Andre!

@ Andre very good advice, i only like to add that contributions to forums can also bring some extra points (and visibility) when recruiters search for candidates.
Also, maybe you'll consider the mentor program from KDE interesting, you can read about it in this "page":http://community.kde.org/Getinvolved/development (scroll down a little), i didn't used it but i think is good to get involved in a really big project like KDE and it's good for them to support new developers that way. If you do get involved please share your opinions later ;)

Those are very interesting tips, thanks Holygirl, Andre and Zlatomir for those ideas. I will take a look at them when I had time.
Regards.

Thank you so much for the link. I'm going through the beginner's guide and although I'm quite new to the coding world, I'll try my level best to contribute good content.
@BelenMunoz
I just asked the question. Andre, Zlatomir and MuhamedAuda are the ones to be thanked :)
P.S: I don't know what I would have done without this forum. The least I can do is recommed it to all my fellow Qt developers.

Can anyone please provide links for open source projects based on Qt.

[/quote]Better to start a seperate thread for this discussion, For now you can "check this":http://qt-project.org/wiki/Transition_from_Qt_4.x_to_Qt5
"C++ API changes":http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-5.0/qtdoc/sourcebreaks.html -

Well, I'm a fresher too and it's hard to find openings just like that with the help of Google. Register yourself with some consultancy and see if they can help you. Which city are you in?
